Black Caps Set for Thrilling Home Summer Against Cricket Powerhouses

The South Africa leg will see double-headers involving both the men's and women's teams

New Zealand is set to become a battleground for international cricket as they prepare to host Australia, England, South Africa, and the West Indies in a series of matches across various formats during the 2025-26 home summer. Adding to the excitement, the New Zealand Women's team will also engage in a white-ball series against South Africa and Zimbabwe, according to the schedule released by NZC.

Men's Schedule Highlights

The New Zealand men's team will commence their summer campaign with a thrilling three-match T20I series against their rivals, Australia, starting on October 1st. Following this, they will face England in a white-ball series consisting of three T20Is (starting October 18th) and three ODIs (starting October 26th).

The West Indies will then tour New Zealand, engaging in a comprehensive series beginning with five T20Is on November 5th, followed by three ODIs from November 16th, and culminating in three Test matches, with the first scheduled for December 6th.

White Ferns' Home Season

The White Ferns are set to play 14 white-ball games, beginning early next year after their participation in the ODI World Cup 2025 in India and Sri Lanka, which lasts until the beginning of November.

Key Fixtures for the White Ferns:

  • A historic three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, marking their first-ever encounter, starting on February 25th.
  • A three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, part of the ICC Women's Championship 2025-29, commencing on March 5th.
  • A five-match T20I series against South Africa, featuring double-headers alongside the men's teams, running concurrently from March 15th to 25th.
  • Three additional T20Is against South Africa between March 29th and April 4th.

NZC Chief Executive Scott Weenink expressed his excitement about the upcoming season, stating, "It's great to welcome such a diverse range of opponents for both the Blackcaps and White Ferns, and especially pleasing for NZC to host the first-ever series between Zimbabwe and New Zealand women." He also highlighted the unique experience of the double-headers against South Africa, offering fans the opportunity to watch top-tier male and female cricketers in action.

Pace-bowler Kyle Jamieson echoed this sentiment, describing the season as a "marquee summer." He emphasized the constant challenge posed by the high-caliber opposition and the significance of playing in front of home crowds, urging fans to come out in force to support the team.
